This class is designed to nurture the mind, body and spirit of each student in Christ through the use of choral music and music instruction. It includes vocal technique, vocal production, sight reading, notation, culture, history, critical thinking and an understanding of music in worship. Because choir is a performing organization, performances are mandatory. Opportunities are available for men’s and women’s choir and solo performance.

BAND
Grades 9-12.....2 semesters.....1 credit

This class is designed to nurture the mind, body, and spirit of each student in Christ through instrumental music instruction. It includes principles of music interpretation, performance technique, breathing, tone production and sight-reading. The band is primarily a performing ensemble. Performances are mandatory. Opportunities are also available for small ensemble and solo performance. Students must provide their own instruments with the exception of a few large instruments owned by the school.
