Chemistry

Grade 11….2 semesters…..1 credit

Chemistry is a continuation of the chemistry learned in IPC. Students will explore topics such as the characteristics of matter, energy transformations during physical and chemical changes, atomic structure, electron configurations, stoichiometry, behavior of gases, bonding, oxidation-reduction reactions; chemical equations, properties of solutions, acids and bases and chemical reactions. The course also uses laboratory experiences to relate these chemistry topics to our everyday lives.

Chemistry Honors

Grade 11….2 semesters…..1 credit

This course includes all the topics of the Chemistry course with a greater emphasis on problem solving and individual research.
