2007-2008 Parent Letter
Dear Soccer Players and Parents,
First, I want to apologize for this summer. I had all kinds of plans for this summer, and, most frustratingly, nothing has worked out the way I had thought it would. From the gym to family circumstances to various scheduling difficulties, everything seemed to work against us.
And now the season is coming up! I am very excited for soccer this year. However, we have a couple of obstacles to meet as the year begins.
At this point, our most pressing issue is the lack of a consistent practice field. We are still working hard to find a location we can use once school starts. Until then, we will have to do the best we can with what we have. Please be praying that the Lord would give us a great location to practice for the fall.
Also, the first day TAPPS is allowing us to practice is Monday, August 6. That in itself is a problem, because I had planned to begin on August 1, as we have in the past. This August is my tenth wedding anniversary, and we planned a short trip during this time over a year ago. I had thought to have at least one full week of practice before I was scheduled to leave; unfortunately, I will only have 2 days!
Practices will go on in my absence, but we are looking for volunteers to help supervise them while I am gone. If you are available to supervise practice on the 8-10 and 13, 14 please notify CA.
Practice Schedule
Players should bring both running shoes and cleats to all practices, along with shin guards, water bottle (filled), ball (if possible) and a towel. Failure to bring required objects to practice will result in penalties.
We will have a parents’ meeting sometime around the beginning of the school year, and a full practice and game schedule will be available soon! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. I look forward to seeing everyone on the 6th!
